  The Partnership for Narragansett Bay
   Creating an Ecologically and Economically Viable Future for
Narragansett Bay & Coastal Rhode Island.

The Chafee/HUD Project The Partnership for Narragansett Bay (PNB) received a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to develop a strategic planning process for Narragansett Bay.  Senator Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island was instrumental in securing the HUD funding for the initiative which will assemble data and information required to develop a decision-making framework for Narragansett Bay, coastal Rhode Island, and their watersheds. The Coastal Institute at the University of Rhode Island administers the grant.Funding from the Chafee/HUD grant will allow the PNB to carry out four important tasks:

t
review the planning history of Narragansett Bay, coastal Rhode Island and their watersheds;

t           consolidate and review all major environmental/economic assessments of marine and coastal resources;

t
measure and report the collective vision among major stakeholder groups and establish a set of core principles and objectives of a decision-making framework; and

t
consolidate, analyze and synthesize ecological data and studies for these waters.

Additional information for each project task can be obtained below (click on the pushpin).
