The DD-L
LISTSERV Primer
The URI CI dredge
disposal stakeholder process hosts a LISTSERV system called DD-L
(this stands for Dredge Disposal List) to promote
electronic discussion of the topics at hand. Anyone registered as
a member of the LISTSERV can send an email message to DD-L@PETE.URI.EDU
and it will automagically be sent to all the members of the LIST.
This is an excellent way to exchange ideas and information outside
of the scheduled stakeholder meetings. There are a few matters of
LISTSERV etiquette that must be adhered to.
- Be
courteous. Debate and disagreement are a necessary and healthy
part of the process, but all postings must be professional, courteous,
and respectful. Name-calling or profanity will not be tolerated
and abusers will be promptly banned from the DD-L LISTSERV.
- Be
careful. When you hit the reply button on your email system, your
message will be posted to everyone on the DD-L LIST. Think twice
before hitting the send button and ask yourself "Is this
something I want the world to read?"
- Do
not advertise products or services on the DD-L LISTSERV
To subscribe
to the LISTSERV, send an email to LISTSERV@PETE.URI.EDU that contains
this as the body of the email message
