Bogdan Prokopovych is a third-year doctoral student in Management at the College of Business Administration, University of Rhode Island. His research interests include the creation of new markets for sustainable technologies, in particular renewable energies. Bogdan is interested in understanding what role the institutional environment plays in the development of environmentally friendly technologies in the coastal region, including wind, biomass, algae, solar, and wave energy sources. Prior to joining the doctoral program at URI, Bogdan worked at the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group in Kyiv, Ukraine, on a survey of the business climate for small and medium enterprises. Bogdan holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Management from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was an Edmund S. Muskie Fellow. Bogdan's interest in renewable energy sources started after college when he interned in Berlin for a Member of the German Parliament who heads the Federal German Biomass Association. Bogdan was born and raised in Poltava, a city in central Ukraine. Despite living his formative years in the heart of Ukraine among its fertile wheat and barley fields, Bogdan has always been drawn to the ocean. He is happy to have his dream come true by studying in the Ocean State!
