CIIP Faculty

The CIIP aspires to make a permanent change in the culture of multidisciplinary coastal environmental scholarship at the University of Rhode Island. Our goal is simple -- building from the excellent discipline-based training URI offers its students, we wish to teach our advanced Ph.D. student the skills to address the varied domains of coastal environmental issues well beyond the bounds of their individual disciplines. We will try different pedagogical instruments to achieve this among our CIIP Fellows; they are the Drosophila in this grand experiment. But the permanent paradigm shift will have to occur within the faculty.

CIIP Faculty are URI (and other) faculty who are committed to the goals and principles of the CIIP and wish to contribute to its success. CIIP faculty support the CIIP in the following ways:
